How big of a problem is ‘organized retail crime?’

This pitch came about basically because I was fascinated with how bad the in-person retail experience has become for customers. All of us have experienced the frustration of trying to buy something as simple as deodorant at a pharmacy and finding it locked behind glass. But why? The answer – as retailers would tell you – is something called “organized retail crime.” But what is that? And does it really exist? I combined expert interviews, man-on-the-street sound, and good old fashioned research to bring the story to life.
